Unbroken: Path to Redemption (Trailer + New Stills)

Unbroken: Path to Redemption (Trailer + New Stills)

Louis Zamperini’s story continues in Unbroken: Path to Redemption, and we finally have a first look at the trailer of the sequel, which chronicles more of the Olympian and Japanese prisoner of war’s life. This faith-based sequel directed by God’s Not Dead filmmaker Harold Cronk picks up after Zamperini returns home from WWII and covers the final third of author Laura Hillenbrand’s best-selling book about him.

Based on Laura Hillenbrand’s bestselling book, Unbroken: Path to Redemption begins where the hit movie Unbroken concludes, sharing the next amazing chapter of the unbelievable true story of Olympian and World War II hero Louis Zamperini. Haunted by nightmares of his torment, Louie sees himself as anything but a hero. Then, he meets Cynthia, a young woman who captures his eye—and his heart. Louie’s wrathful quest for revenge drives him deeper into despair, putting the couple on the brink of divorce. Until Cynthia experiences Billy Graham’s 1949 Los Angeles Crusade where she finds faith in God and a renewed commitment to her marriage and her husband. Now, her most fervent prayer is for God to help Louie find the peace and forgiveness he so desperately needs.

Unbroken: Path to Redemption [First Look!]

We added the first high quality production stills from Merritt’s upcoming movie Unbroken: Path to Redemption! She’s playing Cynthia Applewhite, Louis Zamperini’s wife! The incredible tale of Louis Zamperini originally came to the screen in 2014 in Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken. The film chronicled the Olympic athlete’s long survival at sea on a raft after his bomber was shot down in World War II and showed how he stayed alive, spirit intact, through the brutality of Japanese POW camps. A spiritual second chapter, Unbroken: Path to Redemption, just wrapped filming for release in 2018:

The faith film delves into Zamperini’s personal struggles after his hero’s return to America, his embrace of Christianity and his ultimate act of absolution — traveling back to Japan to forgive the war camp guards who made his life a living hell.
